The Webinar uses MapInfo Professional ® v11 and Encom Discover ® v2011.
The Exploration Targeting & Coordinate Transformation video covers several of the tools that allow the user to quickly plan and assign coordinates to individual point location; including proposed scout drillhole collar locations, locations of interest or for ground truthing your spatial data. This 38 minute Webinar covers the following exercises:
Specific Objectives:
- Regional Exploration Targeting – uses the Discover Update Coordinates, and Unique Identifier tools to add attributes to point locations, and export as .csv and .gpx formats.
- Traverse Line Exploration – allows the user to plan and define regularly spaced drill or sample locations along traverse lines.
- Define Local Soil Grid – uses the Discover Local Grid Layout tool to define a local grid with sample lines and stations.
- Real-earth Transformation (Origin & Bearing) – utilize the Transform Coordinate tool to transform a local mine grid to real world space.
These training courses are designed to provide geologists with an overview of the software capabilities as well as a thorough understanding of many advanced features.
